On behalf of the Officers and Directors we wish to extend a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all Club members and their families.

     The next Social Meeting of December 28th is cancelled due to the holidays. The next Business Meeting is January 11, 2016.

     The 2016 KSC Membership Renewal Applications are due by December 31st. Any renewals that come in between January 1 and February 14th will incur a $10.00 late fee. If your renewal isn’t received by February 14th you will viewed as abandoning your membership and will have to appeal to the KSC Board for reinstatement.

     All members should be aware that the annual Nominations for Directors will begin at the January 11th meeting. Nominations will continue at the February 9th meeting and elections will be held at that meeting after nominations are closed. The following three Directors are concluding their two year term; Dean Councilor, Ted Hentschel and John King.  These Directors may be re-nominated and any member in good standing may be nominated as well. You must be present to accept the nomination and / or cast your vote.

     In light of the recent shooting in California, Gun Owners of America has issued an alert saying that the left wants to confiscate your guns which you can read here Gunowners Alert . To read the referenced New York Times front page editorial on gun control here it is New York Times .

     While you’re in the checking out links mode be sure to check out Michigan State Police Legal Update #119 concerning Amendments to the Firearms Act affecting the process for obtaining a Concealed Pistol License. Update 119 .

     Hunters Education – The 2016 spring class will be held on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday May 1st. This class always fills quickly so don’t hesitate to call now to reserve your spot. Call Leisa or Dennis at 231-947-7235 to reserve your spot.

      Reserved/dedicated range Activities. The following reserved activities have first right to the use of the range at the designated days/times. If you are at the range at the same time you will need to adjust your activities to accommodate their needs. Club members and the public are welcome to participate in these activities. If you need 22 ammo to participate the KSC has ammo available for purchase so that you may partake in these events.

Pistol Shooters, every Sunday from noon until 3:00 pm.

    Firearms for Sale

#146 Smith & Wesson Pistol, 38 special, model 36 in mint condition, $550.

     If you are interested in this pistol please send a reply email with your name and phone number. Then the week after the newsletter is sent I will forward the replies in the order received to the individual who has the firearm for sale. This way, the owner of the firearm doesn’t have to worry about publicizing their name and phone number for everyone to see and they can decide who to contact in regards to a possible sale.

If you have any firearms that you would like to sell send a return email with the information on what it is (brand, model, caliber, finish, barrel length, optics, etc.) and I will include it in the next newsletter.

January 23rd, March 19th, May 14th, July 9th, September 24th and October 29th are the 2016 dates for theCCW Classes conducted by Ted Hentschel and Dave Wessel, owner of Great Guns in Acme. The class costs $150.00 and starts at 8:00 am and concludes at 5:30 pm. To reserve your spot please call Ted at 231-313-0720.
