HPIM1681The next Social Meeting is February 22nd. The next Business Meeting is March 14th.

The Election of Directors was conducted at the meeting. Elected to two year terms were Dean Councilor, Ted Hentschel and Rob King. In accordance with the bylaws the Directors have made the following Election of Officers, President – Dean Councilor, Vice-President – Mark Radcliff, Secretary – Rich Core, Treasurer – Andy Bates. Rich Hentschel, Ted Hentschel and Rob King completes the roster of Directors.

There are approximately 60 Members who did not renew their membership. The membership committee will now begin vetting new members for the Club. The date to mail the 2016 membership cards has yet to be determined. You will received another email indicating when they are to be mailed and the date that the gate combo will be changed.

The KSC Annual Gun Show will be from 9:00 am till 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 16th. Admission will be $3.00 per person. You may reserve a table for $15.00. Help will be needed for setup on Friday night the 15th, during the show and for cleanup when the show is done. Please call Dean Councilor @ 231-632-0968 to volunteer to help or to reserve a table. You may also help be printing out a few of the attached flier and distributing them to friends, co-workers or where ever they might be seen.

Hunters Education – The 2016 spring class will be held on Saturday, April 30th and Sunday May 1st. This class always fills quickly so don’t hesitate to call Leisa or Dennis at 231-947-7235 to reserve your spot. See the attached flier for more information.

The 4H Youth Shooting program will be resuming activities and signing up new shooters in the month of April. If you know of a youngster who may wish to participate or if you wish to become involved in the program please call Rich Steffe @ 231-620-5981.

The Northwest Michigan Friends of the NRA will be holding their annual banquet on April 23rd. You may find more details with this link Banquet or reviewing the attached Flier.

The Michigan State Police Legal Update #120 regarding Amendments to the Firearms Act related to prohibited premises and individual concealed pistol license exemptions can be viewed by going to this link Update #120.

Reserved/dedicated range Activities. The following reserved activities have first right to the use of the range at the designated days/times. If you are at the range at the same time you will need to adjust your activities to accommodate their needs. Club members and the public are welcome to participate in these activities.

Pistol Shooters, every Sunday from noon until 3:00 pm. The first Sunday of the month is CW day and the last Sunday of the month is .22 day. Sundays in between, shoot what you bring.

Firearms for Sale

If you are interested please send a reply email with your name and phone number. Then the week after the newsletter is sent I will forward the replies in the order received to the individual who has the firearm for sale. This way, the owner of the firearm doesn’t have to worry about publicizing their name and phone number for everyone to see and they can decide who to contact in regards to a possible sale.

If you have any firearms that you would like to sell send a return email with the information on what it is (brand, model, caliber, finish, barrel length, optics, etc.) and I will include it in the next newsletter.

March 19th, May 14th, July 9th, September 24th and October 29th are the 2016 dates for the CCW Classes conducted by Ted Hentschel and Dave Wessel, owner of Great Guns in Acme. The class costs $150.00 and starts at 8:00 am and concludes at 5:30 pm. To reserve your spot please call Ted at 231-313-0720.

Club member Dan I. has passed on this link ( Activeshooter.lasd ). It is a 9 minute video put together by the LA Sheriff’s Training Unit regarding surviving an active shooter attack. It is graphic, so, if you watch it, be prepared for that.
