Trap_Shooting

The next Social Meeting is August 22nd and will once again feature an outing to Nye’s Trap Range beginning at 6:00 pm and running until close to dark. We had several new shooters come to the last outing and if you haven’t shot trap before now is an excellent opportunity to do so. If you have a spouse, youngster or friend that would like to try this sport now is the perfect time as there will be lots of assistance available. No shotgun? No problem as there will be several loaner guns available. Nye’s is located at 6281 Peirce Road which is approximately 3 miles east of Kingsley on M-113 and then north approximately 8/10’s mile on Pierce Rd. The cost is $4.00 for 25 clay birds and if you need shells (12 gauge only available) they are available at $7.00/box. If you are bringing your own shells please, no shot larger than 7 1/2. As always, eye and ear protection required. The next Business Meeting is September 12th.

Thanks to all who helped with the KSC BB Shoot and Turkey Shoot during the Kingsley Heritage Days. Your efforts are much appreciated.

The Pistol Steels are repaired and installed at the range. Please follow the posted rules for shooting all steel targets (pistol and rifle). Security measures are in progress to determine who is not signing in at the range, who is not picking up after themselves and who is causing the destruction. These violations are grounds for ejection from the Club.

An RSO class is scheduled at the KSC Clubhouse October 22, the class will be taught by Dave Schleisman and will cost $75.00. (Note: this is a great price for this class). For more information or to signup: call Rich Core @ 231-883-4535 or email the Club at kingsleysportsmansclub@gmail.c om

August 20th is the date for the Kingsley Ambulance Fundraiser that will be held at Nye’s Trap Range.  There will also be an auction featuring a fishing trip and CPL classes among other items.

We are in the process of compiling a list of KSC members who are NRA RSO’s, if you have those credentials please send your name in a return email.

The KSC now has tee shirts for sale @ $10.00 each. They were going fast at the meeting so they may not last long so be sure to get yours soon.

Rifle Raffle: The KSC will be raffling off a Hawken 36 caliber custom made flintlock rifle donated by Jan Nickerson. Tickets are available from Rich Core at any Club meeting or at the Sunday Pistol Shoot. The tickets are $2.00 each or 3 for $5.00 with the drawing being held at the Hunters supper on November 12th.
