The next Social Meeting is on May 22nd and will feature an outing to Nye’s Trap Range beginning at 5:00 pm and running until close to dark. Nye’s is located at 6281 Peirce Road which is approximately 3 miles east of Kingsley on M-113 and then north approximately 8/10’s mile on Pierce Rd on the east side of the road. The cost is $5.00 for 25 clay birds and if you need shells (only 12 or 20 gauge available) they are available at $7.00/box. If you are bringing your own shells please no shot larger than 7 1/2. As always, eye and ear protection required.

Disappoint rears its ugly head again. It hasn’t happened for several months but once again someone is shooting at the steel handgun targets with a high powered rifle.

As you can see this leaves deep craters in the steel and creates a safety issue as it causes weird splatter and dangerous blow back. Anot20170507_121829her $40+ target is now useless. Please no rifles, only pistols and no magnum rounds at the 25 yard and less steel targets. If you do damage a gong, tell us and contribute to replacement costs. Otherwise, if we verify a culprit they will lose their membership.

On May 2, 2017 Representative Lee Chatfield introduced House Bill 4554 which would make registering your handgun optional and also give you the right to to have your self removed from the State Police Database. You can read the bill here House Bill 4554
