imageThe Social Meeting of December 25th is cancelled because of the Christmas holiday. The next Business Meeting will be on Monday, January 8th.

 2018 Membership Renewals – To date 118 regular membership renewals and 47 Senior renewals have been received. Please mail in your renewal promptly if you haven’t done so. All renewals received before December 31st will be entered into the drawing for a Henry Lever Action 22 and a Ruger All American 30-06. All renewals received after December 31st will incur a late charge.

 The Grand Traverse Archers have listed their property and club house for sale. We expect to have a number of GTA members apply for membership with the KSC.  In anticipation of this we are looking for several members to join an advisory steering committee to prepare for more archery activity at the KSC. Looking for some New Years Day shooting fun. The Grayling Sportsman’s Club (6990 Old Lake Rd, Grayling) is having their annual New Years Day luncheon and door prizes event begining at 11:00 am on January 1st. The charge is $20.00. It is an informal affair and if you wish your can also shoot some trap or skeet. You need to bring your own shells, 7½ shot for trap and 8 or 9 for skeet. No need to register, just show up.  The US House of Representatives have passed the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 with bipartisan support in a 231-198 vote. The proposed legislation now moves to the Senate for their consideration. Here is a summary from the NRA on the Concealed-Carry-Reciprocity.

 Firearms For Sale:

If you have any firearms that you would like to sell send an email with the information on what it is (brand, model, caliber, finish, barrel length, optics, etc.) and I will include it in the next newsletter. Please indicate if you wish to be contacted directly or through the Club’s email.

January (date to be determined), March 24th, May 5th, July 28th, August 25, September 29th and October 20th are the 2018 dates for the CCW Classes conducted by Ted Hentschel and Dave Wessel, owner of Great Guns in Acme. The class costs $150.00 and starts at 8:00 am and concludes at 5:30 pm. To reserve your spot please call Ted at 231-313-0720.

 Reserved/Dedicated Range Activities. The following reserved activities have first right to the use of the range at the designated days/times. If you are at the range at the same time you will need to adjust your activities to accommodate their needs. Club members and the public are welcome to participate in these activities.

Pistol Shooters, every Sunday from noon until 3:00 pm. The first Sunday of the month is CCW day and the last Sunday of the month is .22 day. Sundays in between, shoot what you bring.
