February 2018 Newsletter

The Social Meeting of February 26th will consist of the Renewing Membership Rifle Raffle and the stuffing of envelopes with the 2018 membership cards. The next Business Meeting will be March 12th.

Nominations and Election of Directors was held at the February 12th meeting. Elected to a 2 year term were Dean Councilor, Ted Hentshel and Rich Steffe. Officers are President, Dean Councilor – Vice President, Mark Radcliff – Secretary, Rich Core and Treasurer, Andy Bates. It was a very close election as one vote determined the election of one of the Trustees.

2018 Membership Renewals – To date 230 regular membership renewals, 9 trade and 55 Senior renewals have been received. Approximately 19 applications for former Grand Traverse Archers are yet to be processed as new members.

Kingsley High Schools Big Buck Night is Saturday, February 24th with the door opening at 4:30 and dinner at 6:00 pm. Check out the attached flyer for more information.

Friday March 2nd is the date for this year’s Northwest Michigan Friends of the NRA Banquet to be held at the Grand Traverse Resort. Additional info and ticket information can in the attachment.

Due to the declining number of registrations for Hunters Safety there will not be a spring class, it will be scheduled for this fall.

We wish to recognize Rob King for his service on the Board and for his many years of volunteer service. Thanks Rob.

Reserved/Dedicated Range Activities. The following reserved activities have first right to the use of the range at the designated days/times. If you are at the range at the same time you will need to adjust your activities to accommodate their needs. Club members and the public are welcome to participate in these activities.

Pistol Shooters, every Sunday from noon until 3:00 pm. The first Sunday of the month is CCW day and the last Sunday of the month is .22 day. Sundays in between, shoot what you bring.

March 24th, May 5th, July 28th, August 25, September 29th and October 20th are the 2018 dates for the CCW Classes conducted by Ted Hentschel and Dave Wessel, owner of Great Guns in Acme. The class costs $150.00 and starts at 8:00 am and concludes at 5:30 pm. To reserve your spot please call Ted at 231-313-0720.
