The Social Meeting of April 23rd will consist of some spring Trap Shooting at Nye’s Trap Range, located at 6281 Pierce Road in Kingsley. From 6:00pm until done.
The next Business Meeting will be May 14th.
This Saturday (April 14th) is the date of the Kingsley Sportsman’s Club Gun Show. Hours are (9:00 AM to 3:00 PM with an entry fee of $3.00. Volunteers will be needed to help with Friday night set up for the show, the day of the show and for cleanup. Please call Dean (231-632-0968) to volunteer. If you have any unused firearms or related equipment please consider donating it to the Club for sale at their table. It is also appreciated if you can pass the attached Gun Show flyer around to friends and family. Please make an effort to come out to the Gun Show and support your club.
May 19 is the date for the KSC Spring Work Bee with the fun beginning at 8:00 am. If you have any suggestions for range improvements please send a reply email with your ideas. The usual tasks of rebuilding/repairing the backstops, reclaiming some lead, cleanup fix-up and spruce-up will be the tasks at hand. Bring your gloves, hammer, screw guns, razor knife, rake, leaf blower, circular saw, enthusiasm and appetite as lunch will be served.
The Grand Traverse Archers who have become part of the KSC are planning on some significant archery activities. Within the next few weeks they will be moving all of their equipment to the KSC. If you are interested in helping them move or in helping with the setup of a 3D archery range please contact Dennis Waineo @ 231-342-3703.
May 16th at 6:30 pm is the first KSC meeting of the year for the Grand Traverse Chapter of The Well Armed Women. For you new Lady members who wonder who they are, here is some info.
The Well Armed Women (TWAW) Shooting Chapters are non-profit organizations that organizes local groups of women around the country that meet monthly to practice, learn and grow as shooters. We create opportunities for women to be introduced to issues important to women shooters, learn safe gun handling skills, and train together
Who We Serve
- Women 18/21 years or older of all experience levels (State laws may apply)
- Women who are just getting started with buying, shooting, and caring for firearms, and want to learn in a comfortable environment
- Women who have some level of experience and want to advance their skills
- Women who want to share their knowledge and expertise to help other women
- Women who want to have some fun and enjoy learning and shooting in the company of other women
Why We Exist
To expand the world of firearms to women all over the country in a safe, non-threatening way with the purpose of Educating, Equipping and Empowering woman shooters.

- Building defensive gun skills and awareness

The Grand Traverse Regional Chapter meets the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 6:30 for classroom time, followed immediately by various shooting or self defense activities.
During the summer months (May through September) we meet at Kingsley Sportsman’s Club, while meetings occur at the Shooter’s Outfitters indoor range on Curtiss Rd in Traverse City/Grawn from October through April.
The first meeting is always free ($10/lane for shooting at Shooter’s), and ownership of a firearm is not a requirement for joining in.

Interested in a new shooting adventure. Saturday, June 9 is the inaugural “Shuffle N Shoot” with 22 pistols and rifle. Please check out the attached flyer for more information. More details in next months newsletter.
Range Hours: The Spring / Summer range hours began April 1st and end September 30th. Hours are as follows: Weekdays 9:00am – 9:00pm / Saturday 10:00am – 7:00pm / Sunday 12:00 noon – 6:00pm. The Range Hours are also posted on the entrance to the Shooting Pavilion. Be respectful of the surrounding neighbors by observing the new range hours.
Reserved/Dedicated Range Activities. The following reserved activities have first right to the use of the range at the designated days/times. If you are at the range at the same time you will need to adjust your activities to accommodate their needs. Club members and the public are welcome to participate in these activities.

Well Armed Women, Wednesday evenings beginning at 6:30 pm on May 16, June 20, July 18, August 15 & September 19.
Shuffle N Shoot, Saturday, June 9, Noon till ??
Pistol Shooters, every Sunday from noon until 3:00 pm. The first Sunday of the month is CCW day and the last Sunday of the month is .22 day. Sundays in between, shoot what you bring.
4H Shooters, 5:30 – 8:00 PM on Tuesdays, April 17, May 1, 15 & 29; June 12, 26; July 10, 24; August 7, 21; September 7, 21; and October 9.
.22 Silhouette Shooters, (BEGINNING WITH WARM WEATHER IN APRIL) every Thursday night from 6:00-8:00 pm. This event is open to all and features off hand shooting at 25, 50, 75 and 100 yard targets. The CPL pistol range will be available during the 22 Shoot.
May 5th, July 28th, August 25, September 29th and October 20th are the 2018 dates for the CCW Classes conducted by Ted Hentschel and Dave Wessel, owner of Great Guns in Acme. The class costs $150.00 and starts at 8:00 am and concludes at 5:30 pm. To reserve your spot please call Ted at 231-313-0720.
